Position: Continuous Improvement Engineer

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Site Operations Manager you will form a key part of the day shift operations team and will work closely with Process Operators to deliver operational excellence through the continuous improvement of plant processes, procedures and related activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor plant performance and provide engineering input to ensure that Overall Equipment Effectiveness targets are met
  • Champion IPN to become Best-in-Class by reducing all waste streams via effective root cause analysis and execution of improvements.
  • Work with the operations team to troubleshoot plant issues and develop and implement solutions through the site Management team.
  • Work with the site Operations and Technical departments to optimise product quality and energy consumption.
  • Liaise with the Engineering Manager & Engineering Planning Manager to assist in improving plant reliability through Root Cause Investigation and the effective statistical analysis.
  • Develop operator training material to help improve process understanding and effectiveness of the operating teams.
  • Provide technical input and analysis for incident investigations.
  • Coordinate and issue the operations daily instructions, working closely with all necessary personnel to ensure good communication of requirements to the operations team.
  • Calculate and analyse daily plant performance and communicate to necessary parties
  • Lead production trials in order to optimize equipment and product quality
  • Support in the install and commission of new assets to production
  • Take ownership of the mill process control, planning and information system (DSL), adding in new products/materials/formula’s and any technical data
  • Compile production data to analyse and present in a clear and manageable manor
  • Undertaking any other duties as may be required within the general scope of the role.

Position: Operations Apprentice (Summer Months or Permanent)

Role Purpose:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the highest level of quality is maintained throughout the production process, through compliance with relevant Food Safety legislation, standards and requirements.
  • Following the ‘Clean as You Go’ policy at all times, to ensure that the department is operating to the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Ensuring areas are clear and kept tidy at all times.
  • Minimising waste of raw materials, products, packaging, chemicals and water whilst undertaking duties within the department.
  • Correct selection and labelling of finished product and ensuring WIP items are scanned to correct locations.
  • Correctly inbound and outbound deliveries, ensuring procedures are followed and paperwork completed.
  • Ensuring good GMP practice is followed in warehousing n despatch areas.
  • Undertaking training and assisting in the training of other employees, as required.
  • Ensuring that any none conformances are reported to the Team Leader immediately.
  • Ensuring the COSSH procedure is adhered to at all times.
  • Ensuring the forklift trucks procedures are been adhered to.

Salary: £22,813

Position: On Shift Maintenance Engineer (Multi-skilled)

Primary responsibilities

To apply principles of engineering and manufacturing technology to the production process in order to ensure high levels of productivity are maintained on all the production lines. Ensuring that the manufacturing process operates as smoothly as possible, reducing costly inefficiencies to a minimum whilst maintaining the integrity and safety of the plant as a whole.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose Mechanical and Electrical breakdown, assessing the best course of action and conducting a performance repair. Ensuring that any rectification is followed through to a satisfactory conclusion by effective communication with other members of the Engineering team.
  • Be a problem solving leader, get to true breakdown root cause, implement corrective actions, implement control and mistake proof solutions to avoid repeat breakdown all together.
  • Monitor all machines and ancillary plant during production (whilst maintaining notes and relevant log sheets).
  • Follow preventative maintenance and liaise with Engineering Manager regarding spare parts requirements.
  • Assist with installation work and give assistance to contractors, as and when required, ensuring that site standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Carry out any repair or maintenance work that is required, whilst ensuring the area or workshop is left in a clean and safe condition.
  • Constantly finding ways to increase efficiency and effectiveness of repairs through modern lean thinking and techniques.
  • Assist the Engineering planner to develop Job Libraries and how to codify repairs
  • Assist the Engineering planner to develop a preventive maintenance plan for all key equipment
  • Shift basic maintenance and equipment upkeep to line operators.Help operators create and define individual equipment Autonomous Maintenance Plan.
  • Assist the Line supervisors to deploy and manage the Autonomous maintenance deployment process.
  • Provide a detailed handover to the next shift ensuring all relevant information is passed on and understood.
  • Adopt and maintain working practices learnt on training programmes.

Requirements

  • At least 4 Year Apprenticeship training (Multi-skilled preferable)
  • 1+ years of experience with equipment maintenance techniques, such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), and Predictive/Preventive Maintenance Techniques.
  • Experience in PLC fault finding using either Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or Siemens PLC’s
  • Qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds ONC or HNC
  • Previous FMCG experience

Salary: £36,915 + Bonus

Position: Extruder Operator

You will strive to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering and maintaining a level of quality, which enhances the company’s reputation with our customer and their pets.
